I read: The Big Dreams Beach Hotel

The Big Dreams Beach Hotel by Michelle Gorman writing as Lilly Bartlett
(Carlton Square Book 3)

I'm not sure why this particular book is considered part of the Carlton Square series of books because there are no related characters.  However, it was just as adorable (and also annoying) as the other two books that are part of the series.

I enjoyed that the Hotel itself was part of the cast of characters, and that there were characters who were not who you expected them to be.

I still feel like the main character (though different from the other two books) was annoying and unrealistically naive and never once stopped to think about how her reactions affected other people, or how they could be perceived by others.  She got herself into a completely ridiculous situation, partly because there was no way she could have seen it coming when she was so entirely self-absorbed. And then in order to fix the situation she chose to just run away and hide everything, instead of trying to actually fix it. The characters don't tell anyone what's going on and are completely surprised by the fact that no one can just figure it out. They're also completely surprised when everyone else is doing the same thing. The topper is that the few characters who are particularly transparent are deemed untrustworthy by nature of the fact that they're being true.

Like I said, it's not a particularly realistic book, and it's really kind of annoying to know everything that's coming just by judging the nature of the characters, but it's still a bit cute, and the characters are quirky which kept me reading beyond the silliness.

Three stars, for entertainment sake.
