I Read: Pouncing on Murder (#37-2022)

Pouncing on Murder

Pouncing on Murder by Laurie Cass

(Bookmobile Cat Mysteries, book 4)

Minnie Hamilton is back with the Bookmobile.  And of course, the Bookmobile Cat. This time, she gets caught up in a mystery, when Henry, a curmudgeonly member of the community, dies.  Coincidentally, through the Bookmobile, Minnie becomes friends with his best friend and starts to question the situation.

Minnie is really starting to grow on me. I feel like the author was really starting to know how to grow the character at this point so she feels less silly and more personable. As if she'd actually be an approachable member of a small-town community.

I still find it funny that a random librarian, who sometimes can't manage her own life, can solve the crimes that the police can't seem to handle.  But it's all a matter of perspective, I suppose. The police just don't seem to have the same creative ideas that Minnie does.
