I write: Narrative Summary

Week 4 of the writing class - still working with the same character, we're talking about narrative summary.  In class, we wrote a narrative summary of no more than one or two paragraphs.  Where the character is, what they're doing, in first or third person POV.

This is what I wrote:

Becc looked up; she didn't recognize this person.  It was unsettling.  No one new ever came here.  She slid off her perch and let her eyes continue to follow the stranger.  He drifted slowly behind the non-fiction shelf at the front of the store, letting his hand rest on the odd gently worn cover. Becc couldn't tell if it was a random action or if it was a purposeful movement.

The man disappeared from view behind the end of the shelf. Becc quietly moved around the end of the counter. He was still not visible to her.  Both his footsteps and her own were silent. The store was as quiet as the proverbial library.
